The Dying Planet

It's not just the climate. The oceans are fished out, and the songbirds are disappearing. Everything blears with man's smear and smells with man's smell (Hopkins).

I know, everybody else knows about this. It's hard to believe they know it and behave the way that they do.

But how should we behave? What should we do?

Well Pru, if your going to quote Hopkins, allow that poem to have the last word:
And for all this, nature is never spent;
There lives the dearest freshness deep down things; 10
And though the last lights off the black West went
Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs—
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
World broods with warm breast and with ah! bright wings.

But that was then. I'm afraid nature will be spent!!
There's a TV show called "Life Without People." Maybe that will happen.
